The Recovery Story
This library exists today because of a multi-year recovery effort following a 2020 security breach.
In October 2020, the original site was compromised through a vulnerability in its hosting environment — attackers planted unauthorized scripts that ultimately led to the loss of the document library. What followed was years of methodical reconstruction: searching backup archives, cloud storage accounts, old hard drives, and even SD cards for surviving copies of the original research.
That recovery effort identified, verified, and catalogued hundreds of documents across multiple research threads — criminology and forensic studies, homelessness and housing policy, mental health law, nonprofit administration, and more — much of it scattered across years of accumulated backups that had never been fully organized.
This site represents the next chapter: a deliberately simple, static document library, built specifically to avoid the kind of vulnerabilities that caused the original loss. No database, no dynamic backend — just organized, accessible research, built to last.
